Friendly Call Service
The Friendly Call Service is now taking referrals from Ballyfermot and Chapelizod. This is a free and confidential service available to all older members of our communities, living alone or otherwise.
The service offers a free phone call, 5 days a week to check all is well. The call can be used to remind clients to take medication, visit doctor etc and with a chat to one of the friendly staff, it’s the perfect way to start or end your day.
A local steering group has formed to bring this initiative to Ballyfermot and Chapelizod. To register for this service phone please phone 01 824 7342 .
Access Group visits Leisure Centre
Recently the newly formed access group visited the Ballyfermot Leisure Centre to talk to management about accessibility. This access group is open to disabled people, family members, older people and those with an interest in disability issues. The group has developed a submission outlining their concerns and look forward to working with the team in the Leisure centre to ensure that their premises are accessible to people with disabilities. Cherry Orchard Business Loan Fund
The Partnership has secured funding from Dublin City Council and now invites applications from eligible individuals living in Cherry Orchard who wish to start a business or expand their existing business. Individual applicants must be resident in the designated Cherry Orchard area and qualify under the target group. Loans from €1000 to €10,000 available.

The Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership acknowledges the vital role parents play in terms of their child’s education and we are committed to supporting Parents in Dublin 10.

This year the Education coordinator has been meeting with local parents associations to hear their views and recently invited parents from local parents associations to an evening workshop with the Training and development officer from the National Parents Council ...
Volunteers Needed!
Helping Hands Network Care & Repair Programme helps older people by doing basic DIY jobs in their homes. We currently need volunteers to help us to support people in the Ballyfermot and Chapelizod areas.
Can you fit a plug or smoke alarm? Are you handy? Specialist skills are very welcome but not necessary.

Exploring the Sign-Language guide

The Disability Fair was an enlightening and fun day for the citizens of Ballyfermot. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Eibhlin Byrne, launched the fair which showcased products and services for people with disabilities in the area. Importantly, many statutory agencies provided information sessions outlining their obligations and progress under the Disability Act 2005.

A dvd will be shown to raise awareness of the issue of elder abuse in community settings. It also outlines the practical steps to take if you are concerned about abuse and the various supports that may be offered.
The senior case worker for the protection of older people will be present to answer any questions you may have.
This takes place in the Ranch, Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership, 4 Drumfinn Park.
