Support to the Equine Centre:
- We work with the Equine Centre in jointly funding a programme for early school leavers.
- The programme is for 20 young people and jointly funded by the Irish Youth Foundation
- We provide funding for tutor hours to work with the young people to improve their literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
- Participants will receive FETAC foundation or Level 1 certificates.
- The programme will enhance their personal effectiveness and lifelong learning.
Traveller Access Programme
- In 2005 the Student Support Officer and the Education Co-ordinator will work with the Visiting Teacher for Travellers, the local Traveller Community Development Project and Exchange House, the Travellers' Youth Service, to explore the factors involved for Travellers accessing Education.
- As part of our overall Education strategy we hope to increase the number of Travellers accessing Education at all levels in the local Community.
