BITE WISE 2005 is part of the Dublin- wide Fast Track into Information Technology (FIT) initiative which is establishing progression routes for those coming from unemployment into the IT industry. The aim of FIT is to provide training which recognises both the background unemployed people are coming from and their ability and motivation to access quality, industry standard training.
The success of the initiative lies in the fact that it is a coalition of the community, industry and the state training providers. There are currently 3000 unemployed people who have received training in Dublin for the IT industry, with 16 courses already run in Ballyfermot through the LESN in partnership with FÁS, the City of Dublin VEC and FIT LTD.

No background or experience in computing is needed rather the emphasis is on aptitude and commitment. Courses include PC Maintenance, Operating Systems, Technical Support Agent, and Youth FIT.
