The Friendly Call Service is now taking referrals from Ballyfermot and Chapelizod.  This is a free and confidential service available to all older members of our communities, living alone or otherwise.
The service offers a free phone call, 5 days a week to check all is well.  The call can be used to remind clients to take medication, visit doctor etc and with a chat to one of the friendly staff, it’s the perfect way to start or end your day.
A local steering group has formed to bring this initiative to Ballyfermot and Chapelizod.  To register for this service phone please phone 01 824 7342 .

Recently the newly formed access group visited the Ballyfermot Leisure Centre to talk to management about accessibility.  This access group is open to disabled people, family members, older people and those with an interest in disability issues.    The group has developed a submission outlining their concerns and look forward to working with the team in the Leisure centre to ensure that their premises are accessible to people with disabilities. For more information on the access group contact Catherine on 8989165.
