The Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership acknowledges the vital role parents play in terms of their child’s education and we are committed to supporting Parents in Dublin 10.

This year the Education coordinator has been meeting with local parents associations to hear their views and recently invited parents from local parents associations to an evening workshop with the Training and development officer from the National Parents Council ...

We are very interested in hearing your voice as a parent in relation to educational issues. The Dublin 10 Education Task force is a network made up of all the Education providers in the area in the school, youth and community sector. This group together with the Partnership are currently working on a plan to improve Education in Dublin 10. We need local parents to work with us to improve this plan; to get involved contact Jane Rooney on 8989161.

In addition, the Partnership supports the Dublin 10 ADHD Parents Support Group was set up in 2007. The aim of this group is to provide help, support and information on ADHD to parents. ADHD – Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is a medical condition in which the brain’s chemicals, noradrenalin and dopamine do not work properly. It is a long-term condition which affects learning and behaviour right through the school years and in many cases beyond into adulthood. If you have a child who has been diagnosed with ADHD and would like to become a member of the Dublin 10 ADHD Parents Support group please contact Jane Rooney on 8989161.

Ballyfermot/Chapelizod Partnership also supports parenting programmes such as the Incredible Years run by Familiscope. These programmes help to support parents in improving their child’s behaviour in school and the home.

Please contact Jane Rooney Education Coordinator on 8989161 for more information or any queries you have.
